Recently, the Los Angeles Philharmonic returned to live performances with a fury and a passion. After 579 days of no performances (damn you, COVID-19), the acclaimed classical orchestra — led by Gustavo Dudamel — has returned. To celebrate its return, a homecoming and gala was hosted at the Walt Disney Concert Hall. The event was presented by Rolex, and according to Flaunt Magazine, "commenced with an LA Phil commission, "Kauyumari", by Gabriela Ortíz, which kicks off the artists' one-year curatorship of the multi-year Pan-American Music Initiative (PAMI)."
The celebrities, however, showed up and showed out for this momentous occasion. Here, then, are our favorite looks from the event.
1. Angela Bassett
Queen Angela showed up in simple black elegance...in more ways than one.
2. Cynthia Erivo
The Academy Award nominee isn't afraid to take chances — and she proved that with her choice of pink sateen and matching feathers.
3. Michelle Rodriguez
The Fast and the Furious star kept it simple but jazzed it up with a black-and-white blazer.
Comedian Retta chose white instead of black for her look, and proved she wasn't afraid to take fashion chances. Fortunately, it worked! It was definitely a winner.
