Brandy’s beautiful daughter Sy’Rai Smith is looking forward to following in her mother’s footsteps but for now she’s giving her her flowers. The 19-year-old daughter of the legendary singer took to TikTok to recreate one of her mother’s most iconic music moments when she joined forces with influencer Stella Williams. The pair donned the infamous outfits worn by Brandy and Monica to remake their Grammy winning hit, “The Boy Is Mine.” Ever the supportive mama, Brandy shared the clip on her social media accounts and the clip has garnered thousands of views. Sy’Rai often takes times to pay homage to her legendary mother on her TikTok account and, of course, people are here for it!
Brandy gave birth to Sy’Rai in 2002 and documented her pregnancy in the MTV docuseries, Brandy: Special Delivery. The pair seem to have a beautiful and close mother-daughter relationship that allows Sy’Rai to be her authentic self. The two teamed up on Brandy’s last album, B7, on the track “High Heels” and Brandy never misses a moment to speak on the joys of mothering her only child. “I love being a mother because having a child inspires you to be a better you,” she said in an interview on Cleveland radio station WENZ. “The hardest thing about being a mother is that you realize you aren’t perfect and you’ll make mistakes. But you do the best you can. I teach Sy’rai to always be who you are. Sometimes you can lose yourself if you don’t have a strong foundation, so I talk to her about knowing who she is.”
Sy’Rai seems poised to make her own name in music with her plans to release an EP. TheJasmineBrand reports that Smith is preparing a musical project and another collaboration with her mother could be on the horizon. We LOVE to see it.
