Set your calendars because this is a mentorship program you do not want to miss! Candace Marie Stewart’s Black in Corporate has recently partnered with Kering Americas for a virtual summer mentorship program. The program is set to help young Black professionals navigate the lucrative industry of fashion, while helping to provide the necessary skills needed in the corporate field for long-lasting success.
No matter what career you lie in, Kering and Black in Corporate are here to assist mentees by pairing them with an esteemed employee of Kering America’s or any notable fashion house represented by the company such as Gucci, Balenciaga, and Bottega Veneta.
“The majority of my experience working within corporate spaces has been in the luxury fashion sector — so to celebrate BIC’s first anniversary with our debut partnership with Kering feels like a full circle moment,” Stewart said, in a statement. “My hope for this collaboration is to open doors for other Black professionals who are eager to explore this realm, and to mitigate many of the obstacles that I dealt with in the beginning of my career in a sustainable, long-lasting way.”
The program is set to run during August, and will harbor a plethora of online workshops, networking events, and special speakers of the Kering group.
“We are extremely proud and honored to partner with Black in Corporate for this mentorship program, the first of its kind for both BIC and Kering Americas,” Said Laurent Claquin, the president of Kering Americas. “We have a continued commitment to foster and maintain initiatives that allow us to support the next generation of talent which is essential to our industry.”
Kering representatives specialize in a variety of sectors that range from marketing, operations, technology, and human resources. Applicants are free to sign up for the program until Friday, July 2nd. And though the timeline is slowly nearing the end, this is an opportunity you do not want to miss!
