I am the girl to try all the diet fads. Atkins, Weight Watchers, The Whole 30. You name it, and I probably have tried it.

I also like hearing about other peoples weight loss stories. I love seeing workout pictures on Instagram, and I read all the magazine advice just like everyone else. But when it comes to real guidance, I think to myself can I use this in my real life? It needs to be more straightforward, and it needs actually to be attainable and something I can easily incorporate into my day.  So that’s why I’m sharing my top tips with you. Have a good morning and your likely to continue to reach for healthy practices all day long.

DRINK A GLASS OF H20

It’s such a simple task and so easy to accomplish first thing in the AM. It’s also great for your skin and your gut. Need some encouragement? Consider flavored water. Now and then I like to experiment and choose a new water ingredient to slice up. I love lemons, oranges, cucumber, strawberry, apples and even herbs. The fun is customizing it to your taste, so find what you like and go for it!

PREP YOUR BREAKFAST

Everyone knows that breakfast is considered the most important meal of the day. I know it to be true for me at least. The only problem is, if I wait until morning to create a healthy masterpiece, chances are I’m going to skip it and eat something random like something from the Chick-Fil-A drive through or perhaps the crazy leftovers I had from the night before. Not the healthiest options, right?

Instead, set yourself up for success by making your breakfast for the week the night before. Try making parfaits, scrambled eggs or omelets, even overnight oatmeal at home. If I have to cook first thing in the morning, one trick I always like to do is to cut up all the ingredients for my omelets the night before. That way you can throw everything on the skillet and BAM! It’ll be done in no time.

Make a smoothie

A smoothie is always a good idea in the morning, and it’s also a great way to sneak in some fruit and veggies into your day first thing! There are so many options out there to try. Try out a tropical green smoothie — kale, oranges, baby carrots, banana, frozen mango, frozen pineapple. Or a Green Machine — spinach, banana, frozen strawberries, mango, pineapple —for some excellent vitamins to help boost your immune system and give you instant energy to start your day.

DON’T FORGET THE SNACKS

Having a good morning doesn’t mean that you can fall off in the afternoon. You are prepping yourself for the whole day and seriously, always make sure you have good choices on hand. That way, you don’t start reaching for food that you know will not help your waistline. Nuts, apple slices with peanut butter, even a protein shake or an acai bowl with almond butter midafternoon can help curb cravings and keep you in line with any diet goals you might have.

I know I make the worst food choices when I’m ravenous, so the plan is don’t ever let yourself get to that point! Always be prepared.
