So you decided to start your own business at the top of the year: you did your homework, took the necessary steps, and made the leap — congrats, Queen! Now it's three months later and you've realized that entrepreneurship is, um, yea… If you're anything like us, then you'll feel like you're on a wooden rollercoaster, over excited about the thrill of the ride and at the same time, unsure about the very things that you were once certain about. Even thinking about calling yourself, or other people calling you, an entrepreneur is a bit nerve-wracking. Even with encouragement from your closest of friends and family, you may feel like you're alone. But, that's okay.

The feelings of loneliness and trying to figure things out will be for a season. Soon enough, you will be comfortable in who you are and who you were meant to be (even if it doesn't feel that way right now). Sis, you're going to learn so much about yourself within the next couple of months/years, and you will be grateful for these moments of growth.

After looking at all of the amazing International Women's Day posts this month, we wanted to drop a friendly reminder to the new Queenpreneurs: keep going! Here are the five things we believe you (actually) we should be doing in this season.

1. Forget the Past

Honestly, everything that has happened before now should be placed in a nice box that you label: [INSERT NAME] 1.0, and thrown into the nearest ocean, ASAP! If you're going to be on this journey, forget past failures and be okay with starting over, and over again. Take what you have learned from the past and move forward. Be committed to this new journey, let go of who you used to be and become who you are meant to be: [INSERT NAME] 2.0.

2. Focus

The amazing part about this journey is that you will be gifted with an overflow of ideas. Again, if you're anything like us, you'll think that you can accomplish all of your ideas right now. A little word of advice for that inner go-getter hustler spirit we were gifted with as Queens: slow down, sis. Focus on the present and what you can achieve right now. Write down your goals and create a timeline. Check in with yourself from time to time, and be okay with adjusting your goals and the route to getting there. Timing is everything. Remember, slow and steady wins the race.

3. Find the Inspiration

The only thing that will stop you from achieving all that you want, is you. We must find the inspiration in everything. Start a gratitude journal. It helps to direct thoughts and emotions on a more positive path. It's not fair to put so much pressure on yourself. Figure out your triggers and find what gives you peace. Books are also a great way to find inspiration. Becoming by First Lady Forever, Michelle Obama, is one of many amazing books to read — if you haven't already done so.

4. Remain Faithful

*Disclaimer: Throughout this season, you. will. be. tested.

But, your faith will definitely grow stronger. Faith is indeed a personal relationship. Trust that your decision to take the leap was the right one, and if it's not, it will lead you to the right path. Personally speaking, our personal faith in God has kept us from throwing in the towel many times. Believe that this decision, your purpose and cause are bigger than you. Remember why you started and prepare for the overflow, sis.

5. Fight the Fear

Here's where it's okay to buy into everyone's preconceived notions about Black women. (It's not a secret that we are naturally passionate about what we believe in — amongst a host of other amazing things.) On that note, 'tis the season to fight. Fight tears, fight fears, fight doubts, fight anything that says that you can't be your best self, and achieve your goals. Self-implicated or not, do what you can to block and overcome any form of negativity.

(You know we can't just say we will give you five, and just give you five. We always give you just a little bit more. Here's one more for the road…)

BONUS: Have Fun!

Entrepreneurship is trying AF, but it is worth it. Don't forget that you're human first. Enjoy the moments, focus on the present, and live your best life. Focus on the opportunities in front of you and build money-making relationships, but don't forget to take care of yourself and your spirit.

With all of that said, obvious disclaimer, everything on this list will not be easy. Another obvious disclaimer, it's easy for someone else to tell you what to do on this new journey. Entrepreneurship is a mindset, however, you decide to manage your new title and journey. Just know that you are not alone, sis! There's a gang of other Queens out here, just like you, who are waiting to spread their magic too.
