Friday, SZA released a remix to her record-breaking hit “Kill Bill” featuring Doja Cat. The song comes from her record-breaking “S.O.S.” album. Doja and SZA have previously collaborated on the hit single “Kiss Me More,” however this time around the duo delivered a darker feel in their music. Doja Cat has stated on Twitter that she will no longer release pop music. Her plan is to now stick soley to rap. Her verse on the “Kill Bill” remix was a fabulous way to usher in her new rap era.

Just hours before the SZA and Doja release, rap fans were graced with another female rap remix. This one also came with visuals. Ice Spice’s “Princess Diana” featuring Nicki Minaj comes off of Spice’s debut album “Like..?” Fans have been expecting a collaboration between the two acts ever since Minaj commented under an Instagram post of the Bronx native, referring to her as the princess of rap.

The Era Of Rap Girl Remixes

These new releases are part of a wave of rap-girl remixes. Fans have been happy to hear several over the past few months. Although there has been some beef between rappers in the industry, overall, this new generation of female rappers is all about collaboration and uplifting one another.

Glorilla’s “Tomorrow 2” is a remix of her original song “Tomorrow.” The remix features Bronx rapper Cardi B. “Tomorrow 2” is a beautiful harmony of southern Memphis rap that Glorilla embodies with ease and the gritty New York flow that Cardi B brings to enhance the track.

Lola Brooke has been on a roll with her hit single “Don’t Play With It.” She recently turned up the heat a few notches when she added Latto and Yung Miami on the remix. With flows from NY, Miami and Atlanta, the song brings you a universal feel that all rap fans can appreciate.

Coi Leray is another artist who has been killing the game with her single “Players.” It has gained attention from all over the country with Jersey club remixes, reggae remixes and more. Now the rapper tapped Dominican rapper Tokischa for one of the song’s official remixes. Tokischa’s Spanglish bars on the track add flavor to the song that no one else was able to contribute.
