Avocado hair masks are a popular natural remedy for improving hair health.
The nutrients in avocados like vitamin E, Biotin, antioxidants like vitamins A and C, natural oils and fatty acids are beneficial for strengthening hair. They provide moisture and promote growth.
Try out the following recipe to make your own avocado hair mask recipe at home with ease.
1 ripe avocado 1 tablespoon of coconut oil (or olive oil) 1 tablespoon of honey 1 egg yolk (optional, for extra protein)
Cut the avocado in half, remove the pit and scoop out the flesh into a bowl.
Use a fork or a blender to mash the avocado until it's smooth and free of lumps.
Add the coconut oil, honey and egg yolk to the mashed avocado. Stir or blend until the mixture is creamy and well-combined.
Start with clean, damp or dry hair. Apply the mask from the roots to the tips, focusing on the scalp to stimulate hair growth.
Gently massage the mask into your scalp for about five minutes to boost circulation and promote hair growth.
Cover your hair with a shower cap or a towel to retain heat, which helps the mask penetrate your hair. Leave it on for 20–30 minutes.
Rinse the mask out thoroughly with lukewarm water. Shampoo and condition your hair as usual.
Use this mask once a week for best results. Ensure the avocado is ripe to make it easier to mash and apply. If you have an oily scalp, you can skip the egg yolk.
