Whether creating some for your daughter or niece, for a dance competition or a fun day with friends, hair glitter is a great way to celebrate your crown.
Think adult birthdays or a festival with friends. Hair glitter is for you no matter your age. Here's more on what you'll need to achieve your very own custom concoction.
Bowl Spoon Spatula Glitter Hair Gel Sandwich bag Airtight jar
When it comes to glitter, longtime hair blogger Naptural85 recommends medium to large-size flecks. That way, your DIY gel will resemble that of store brands.
Add 2 spoonfuls of gel to your bowl. To achieve a pigmented hair gel look, you'll need to create a thick hair gel mix which requires a hefty amount of glitter.
Mix the glitter into the gel until the consistency feels like mousse. Make sure that the glitter is blended well, incorporating as many pieces of the poured glitter as possible.
Once it's sticky to the touch and well-pigmented, you can move the mix to your container. Piping works best, as it prevents a mess and captures most, if not all, of the gel.
Use your spatula to transfer the gel from your bowl to your sandwich bag. By packing the gel into the corner of the bag, you create a point through which it can funnel into the container.
Place the gel along the middle or side part of a slicked-back bun. You can also place it along the perimeter of your edges.
Keep in mind, if you use heat tools to achieve straight hair looks, that the hair glitter is wet. When you're ready to remove the hair glitter, wash as you normally would; it is easily removable.
