Pumpkin is loaded with vitamin A, which promotes cell turnover, and vitamin C, which brightens skin. Its enzymes act as a gentle exfoliant, making it ideal for a natural face mask.
This pumpkin face mask is quick to make, affordable and provides maximum skincare benefits without harsh chemicals.
If you have leftover pumpkin, make a puree by blending the pumpkin flesh until smooth. This puree will serve as the base for the mask.
Honey is a natural humectant, which means it attracts moisture to the skin. Adding honey to your pumpkin face mask helps hydrate and smooth your skin.
Yogurt contains lactic acid, a natural exfoliant that gently removes dead skin cells. Adding just one teaspoon helps the mask provide a light exfoliating effect.
Cinnamon adds warmth and helps combat bacteria, making it great for breakout-prone skin. Use only a pinch to avoid irritation, especially on sensitive skin.
Combine the pumpkin puree, honey, yogurt and optional cinnamon in a bowl. Mix until smooth and consistent. The texture should be thick and creamy.
Using clean hands or a face brush, apply a thin, even layer of the mask to your face, avoiding the eyes.
Allow the mask to sit for about 10-15 minutes. During this time, the vitamins and antioxidants from the pumpkin will absorb while the honey and yogurt hydrate and exfoliate.
After 10-15 minutes, rinse the mask off with lukewarm water, using gentle circular motions to lift any remaining dead skin cells.
Once your skin is clean and dry, follow up with a light moisturizer. Apply sunscreen if you’ll be heading outdoors, as your skin will be sensitive after exfoliating.
Pamper yourself with this simple, natural face mask using leftover pumpkin. It’s a great way to enjoy the fall season’s skincare benefits without wasting food.
