Raven Symoné's wife, Miranda Pearman-Maday, faced online criticism after revealing she hadn't watched, “That’s So Raven,” which aired from 2003 to 2007 before the two met in 2015.
Raven Symoné took to TikTok to address the online attacks against her wife, calling out death threats and disrespectful comments.
Pearman-Maday shared on "Bottoms Up With Fannita" podcast in April that she hadn't seen Raven's work before meeting her, sparking controversy.
Pearman-Maday clarified she didn't grow up watching "That's So Raven" or her wife's other Disney projects, but has since seen Raven's work.
“I’m here with Miranda, my wife, to tell you stop it in the comments,” Raven said in the TikTok video. “And stop with the death threats in her DMs,” she continued.
Raven Symoné defended her wife, expressing appreciation for Pearman-Maday's perspective and their relationship dynamic.
Pearman-Maday explained that she hadn't noticed Raven's work before their relationship. She told Raven in the video, "I knew who you were, but you just weren't on my radar."
Pearman-Maday described the backlash as "wild," clarifying that while she hadn't grown up watching "That's So Raven," she's since seen most of Raven's work and admires her talent.
Pearman-Maday responded to criticism on TikTok by sharing a clip from their recent appearance on the "Tamron Hall Show."
Raven shared on the "Tamron Hall Show" that she values Pearman-Maday's view of her beyond her celebrity status.
“Imagine being in a relationship with someone that doesn’t look at you like a famous person even though you’ve been famous your whole entire life,” Raven said on the show.
Raven Symoné and Miranda Pearman-Maday aim to move forward positively, focusing on their relationship and mutual respect.
