When you think of Simone Biles, her countless accolades as an Olympian likely come to mind. What many might not know, however, is the challenging journey that shaped her into the trailblazer she is today.

“Growing up, my biological mom was suffering from drug and alcohol abuse, and she was in and out of jail," Biles shared in her memoir, "Courage to Soar."

After neighbors contacted Child Protective Services, the athlete and her siblings entered foster care. Their grandparents adopted her and her sister Adria.

Biles' two older siblings, Ashley and Tevin, were adopted by their great-aunt. Over time, Simone also gained two adopted brothers, completing a unique and resilient family unit.

Luckily, Simone’s tough upbringing hasn’t stopped her from finding immense success. Throughout it all, she’s maintained a close bond with her siblings. Here’s everything we know about them!

Simone and Adria were adopted together from foster care. Despite their unusual circumstances, Adria insists they’re just regular sisters. Their striking resemblance and close-knit bond often lead people to mistake them for twins.

“I think when people ask this question, they don’t realize she is completely normal,” Adria told USA Today in 2022. “She doesn’t do flips around the house. We still fight sometimes and I steal her clothes. We are like best friends.”

Ronald Jr., the eldest of Simone’s adopted brothers, is a devoted family man. He and his wife, Samantha, welcomed their daughter, Ronni Louise Biles in 2022. In 2023, Ronni watched her aunt shine at the World Artistic Gymnastics Championships.

As the general manager of World Champions Centre in Texas —Simone’s and Jordan Chiles' training facility, Simone's older brother Adam has been a constant presence in her journey to greatness. 

Tevin, Simone’s older brother, was acquitted of all charges related to a ttriple homicide due to insufficient evidence, allowing him to reunite with his family.

Despite challenges with drug trafficking, Simone's older sister Ashley has shown public support of her younger sister, calling her the “G.O.A.T.”

Growing her family by one, Biles married Chicago Bears football safety Jonathan Owens. The couple has been together for almost five years. Owens is also a huge support of Biles' career.
