Tyler Perry met Gelila Bekele at a Prince concert in 2009. For 11 years, the couple navigated their personal and professional lives together.

In 2014, Tyler Perry and Gelila Bekele welcomed their son, Aman Tyler Perry. Perry often speaks about fatherhood as one of his greatest joys, crediting Aman for giving his life greater meaning and purpose.
