4th of July crafts are a great way to teach children about the holiday while keeping little hands busy and creative.
Whether you're hosting a backyard bash or spending a quiet day at home, these DIY activities add a personal, playful touch to the celebration.
You'll need: - Construction paper - Streamers or ribbon - Glue stick or tape - Stapler - Hole punch - String or yarn
Roll a piece of construction paper into a cylinder and staple or tape the ends together. Cut streamers into strips and glue them to the bottom of the cylinder.
Punch two holes on opposite sides at the top and tie string through to make a hanger. Decorate with stars, stickers or drawings before hanging!
You'll need: - White or black construction paper - Washable red, white and blue paint glitter (optional) - Paintbrushes - Paper plate (for paint)
Pour paint onto a paper plate. Have kids dip their hands into the paint (one color at a time) and press onto the paper like firework bursts.
Repeat with different colors, layering the handprints. Sprinkle glitter on the wet paint if desired for sparkle. Let dry and hang as festive artwork!
You'll need: - 7–9 popsicle sticks - Red, white and blue paint - Paintbrushes - Glue
You'll need: - White star stickers or a white paint pen - Ribbon or string (optional for hanging)
Line up 7 sticks side-by-side and glue a stick across the back to hold them together. Paint alternating red and white stripes. Paint the top left corner blue and let dry. Add star stickers or draw white stars onto the blue area.
