Thanks to social media, it's never been easier for women to share beauty and self-care tips with each other. Lately, rosemary oil has become a favorite of many.
From prepping your rosemary bunches to storing the oil once it's developed, there are proper steps to take to make sure that your DIY beauty project is potent and lasts.
Additionally, proper application will help your rosemary play an instrumental role in your hair growth journey. Follow these easy steps to make your own at home!
Fresh or dried rosemary leaves Carrier oil (olive, coconut or jojoba oil) Clean jar with a lid Dark glass bottle for storage
Washing your rosemary leaves will help you to remove any dirt or debris on them. Pat dry with a paper towel. (Dried rosemary does not need to be washed.)
In a clean, clear jar, fill halfway to the top with your washed and dried rosemary leaves. Be sure to leave half of it empty as to intensify the infusion.
With your oil of choice, fill the jar until all of the leaves are covered. Shake the jar gently to make sure that the contents are saturated or place the jar in warm water for two to three hours.
Once the infusion is complete, you'll need a fine mesh sieve and a clean bowl. Strain your oil and discard your rosemary leaves.
Pour the strained rosemary oil into a dark glass bottle to protect it from the light. Afterward, store in a dark place to maintain potency and shelf life.
Next time around, consider using a different oil if your end result leaves you unsatisfied. There are a range of options, from coconut to jojoba, that have health and hair benefits.
Whether through a scalp massage, overnight mask or pre-shampoo treatment, rosemary oil is known to reduce scalp irritation, breakage and split ends.
