I have had dark circles under my eyes for as long as I can remember. I don’t know where they came from or when they started, but I do remember constantly being bullied as a kid because of them. Before taking it out of the package, I did my research on the product to make sure I used it properly. With ingredients like niacinamide, caffeine, kojic acid and more, which all aid in decreasing puffiness and fine lines, I felt as if I was in good hands. The website did warn, however, that if your dark eyes are genetic or they’re due to hollowness and not discoloration then the product may not live up to your expectations.

The packaging suggested using the masks 2-3 times a week and for an extra cool feeling, to place them in the fridge prior to use. I followed both suggestions for a week.

Day 1

My first day trying the product seemed very promising. I enjoyed the cool feeling under my eyes and the results gave me what I expected for the first day. My dark circles weren’t as prominent and the puffiness definitely went down.

Day 2

Day 2 was when I began to realize that the warning on the Topcials website may have applied to me. I didn’t see the dark circles fading but the puffiness was reducing. This led me to believe that the dark circles under my eyes were due to hollowness and not discoloration. However, the reduced puffiness made a difference to me.

Day 3

Day 3 was probably the most interesting outcome of them all. I didn’t notice many differences, however, there was a variable in that day’s test. The first two days I applied the masks in the morning, shortly after I woke up. On the final day, I applied the masks midday, after starting half of my work day, going to the gym and walking my dog. This may have made a difference because my face, including my under eyes, had time to de-puff throughout the day.

Final Thoughts on the Eye Masks

Topicals may have done something right with these eye masks. Although my dark circles didn’t go away, as warned on the site, the puffiness of my under eyes went away. I would also follow up after my mask with my personal choice of under-eye serum.Topicals suggests that you use their Faded Under Eye Serum to go along with the masks.

Overall I think the masks do the job they’re intended to do. They are not a permanent fix, but they make a difference in a short amount of time.
