The Met Gala is one of the most highly anticipated charity events, bringing out Hollywood’s biggest stars for one fashionable evening.
The star-studded red carpet remains a hot and trending topic each year. The glamor and thrill of red carpets aren’t new for celebrities or fans of its exclusivity. The Met Gala, however, delivers a new, fresh take on red-carpet fashion each year that captivates viewers, makes statements, and, most importantly, brings out people’s inner fashion police.
The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City hosts the event. Each year, attendees dress up according to their interpretation of the event’s changing theme. In 2023, it was a tribute to the late fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld. The theme was “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty,” and guests wore outfits that best represented the designs of Lagerfeld, known for his work with Chanel and Fendi. Back in 2022, it was the year for “Gilded Glamour,” which drew inspiration from New York’s Gilded Age.
The stellar guest list has previously included Zendaya, Rihanna, Quinta Brunson, Kerry Washington, Halle Bailey, Keke Palmer, Janelle Monae, Michaela Coel and countless other A-list celebrities. Here is everything you need to know in preparation for the epic red carpet return of The Met Gala on Monday, May 6 at 6 p.m. EST.
