Over the last few years, Storm has been recognized as a voice speaking up for issues around racial inequality, mental health, and inclusivity. She's also an advocate for social change through her various platforms, including her initiative Bamazing – which strives to empower, uplift, and celebrate young girls and women.
According to a press release, it is this revolutionary spirit that brought Reid and Maybelline New York together for this ideal partnership.
"Storm is a standout voice and changemaker," said Trisha Ayyagari – Global Brand President of Maybelline New York Worldwide. Ayyagari continued, "She is a deeply talented actress, a courageous champion of equality, and has energy that lights up any room. I've always admired Storm and knew she would be a great addition to the Maybelline brand."
Alongside Maybelline, Storm will be able to use her voice as a driving force for change on the causes that matter most to the brand's consumer audience. The 17-year-old will also participate in Maybelline's "Brave Together" initiative, which supports anxiety and depression, as well as the brand's ongoing diversity work.
"Maybelline has been in my family for as long as I can remember," Reid shared in a statement. "I'm looking forward to this new chapter with Maybelline where I will be able to use my voice to champion young women and my generation through my work with the brand."
Storm is set to be the face of a new innovation from Maybelline's Fit Me franchise, which will officially debut this summer. Talk about Black Girl Magic!
