It seems as though we are seeing so many new celebrity babies this year and we are welcoming a new one to the world! Adrienne Bailon and husband Israel Houghton welcomed their first baby! The two brought home baby boy, Ever James Houghton via a surrogate, she revealed in an Instagram post Tuesday.

The former “The Real” host has been very open about her infertility issues. She mentioned on the show in 2018 that getting pregnant was not as easy for her as she thought it would be. In the Instagram post, Bailon Houghton mentioned how much all of her struggles were worth it.

“He is worth every tear, every disappointment, every delayed prayer, every IVF cycle, every miscarriage. Everything. All we feel is joy and overwhelming love & gratitude,” the new mom continued. “Grateful to God, to our angel surrogate and to all of our friends and family who have stood with us for over 5 years on this journey. He’s here and we have never been happier to lose sleep! #HappilyEverHoughton 🤍”

If the pregnancy comes as a surprise to you, it should! The former Cheetah girl also recalled in the interview that her and her husband kept the pregnancy under wraps. “f you have followed our love story… you know that our journey to baby has been very challenging – But God is true to His word and His promises. We have quietly prayed while sitting on this most magnificent secret for the last 9 months.”

Many celebrities have been welcoming their bundles of joys via a surrogate. Just this year, Khloe Kardashian welcomed her newest baby with Tristan Thompson via a surrogate. We’ve seen the same from Gabrielle Union and Dwayne Wade, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, even Kandi Burruss and Todd Tucker. The option to use a surrogate has opened up the ability for hopeful moms who have had issues with getting pregnant or carrying a pregnancy to term. Especially considering that the Black maternal mortality rate consistently rises and healthcare for Black women is a reoccurring topic of conversation.
