Aerie as a brand has been taking steps over the past few years to uplift the beauty and power in everyday women. They've launched the #AerieREAL movement, which uses photoshop-free images of models in many body sizes and shapes wearing the lingerie and loungewear they're known for. The brand's latest move includes expanding its #AerieREAL Role Model family, which was originally launched with Iskra Lawrence, a body positivity activist, as the face of the campaign. The brand just added the star of grown-ish, Yara Shahidi, gold-medal Olympic gymnast Aly Raisman, and singer Rachel Platten.

These women share a passion for activism and using their voices to make a difference. They uplift other women and are real-life inspiring role models for young women everywhere — making them a perfect fit to represent a brand looking to highlight authenticity and realistic standards of beauty.

And it's not just about ads and images — these role models will also be holding Real Talk speaking engagements in Aerie stores and designing exclusive products that will be sold in-store (starting in March) where 100% of the sales from those items will benefit a charity of their choice.

“I love supporting causes and movements that help perpetuate this idea of people rising together," said Shahidi. And we think empowering young women and teaching them about true beauty and charity is a wonderful representation of people rising together.
