As the year draws to a close, we’re all met with the inevitable question: What’s your New Year’s Resolution? I personally don’t think you have to wait until the ball drops at midnight to start a new goal, but that doesn’t mean I haven’t been taking the time to reflect on what I’ve accomplished this year and to set some goals for the long-term. If you’re looking for ways to make sure that you accomplish your goals for this year, check out these tips below:

  1. 1. Write It and Make it Plain

This has been an important motto for me in recent months. There’s something about writing goals down that just makes them so much easier to envision and strategize around. With that being said, no matter how big or how small, write down everything you want to accomplish in the next year. That could be eating clean, starting a new job, or improving a relationship – just write it down and make it plain.

  1. 2. Determine the Action Items for Your Goals

Now that you’ve written down all of your big ideas, it’s time to ground them in reality. Take the time to write out all of the little steps you’re going to need to take in order to reach your goal. For example, if you want to eat healthier, find out what that looks like for you. Does that mean drinking more water? If so, do you need a new water bottle? Does that mean cooking more? Do you need to look up a meal delivery service or buy a new cookbook? Make the steps clear and easy to follow so that you can actually complete them.

  1. 3. Get to Work

So you’ve written down your goals and broken them down into actions items, now you just have to do it. Now, of course, that's easier said than done. However, as long as your goals are realistic and actionable all you have to do is be consistent and give yourself a little bit of grace along the way.

Now you have three easy ways to kick-start your goals for the New Year. Goals only work if you do, but as long as you take the necessary steps, you’ll be crushing your goals in no time.
