It’s without a doubt, the value of an experienced graduate is competing with the level and quality of a degree. Corporations are more interested in hiring a graduate with experience within their industry and in a corporate environment. But how does a student squeeze-in corporate experience into a demanding class schedule? You guessed right — internships.

But there’s a catch. Even though around 75% of large businesses hire interns, many students face financial hurdles such as relocation and cost of living, that prevent them from accepting their offers. According to CNBC, on average, it costs around $13,000 for an intern to live in a major city for three months.

For the past two years, the My Passion My Life Scholarship, founded by Buku, has been committed to helping students break down these financial barriers, as they turn their passion into a life. To help subsidize relocation costs for students and recent graduates, this scholarship awards recipients with $1,000 and pairs them with corporate mentors that advise and guide the students through their professional career.

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS:

– You must be a current undergraduate, graduate student, or recent graduate (Class of 2018- 19).
– You must have accepted a full-time summer internship and provide documentation.
– You must be a U.S. citizen and resident.
– You must fully complete the online application.
Please note that there are four (4) short answer responses and one (1) 60-second video response that must be submitted.
