As we move into 2022, one of the beauty trends that we’d love to see continue and expand its presence is the push to embrace our natural beauty. We’d love to see more focus and attention on brands and products that enhance our natural features, less use of filters and picture-perfecting technology, and most importantly, a united push for us all to accept ourselves and others just as we are. One brand that is already making these strides in 2022 is bareMinerals.

The makeup and skincare brand has unveiled its “Bare Your Best Skin” Campaign, as well as announced that it will “no longer retouch or filter any campaign images or videos across all platforms.” bareMinerals has already begun this initiative as of December 26, 2021 by labeling its ads and promotional photos with a label of “unbeautified,” or “unretouched skin,” to portray and confirm that the image hasn’t been filtered with beautifying technology.

Serena Giovi, bareMineral’s Chief Marketing Officer explains that the brand is “committed to ensuring our complexion content accurately represents the efficacy of our products, our community values and celebrates natural beauty, product performance and transparency, which made the decision to go filter-free an easy one.”

Their new campaign, “Bare Your Best Skin,” features the new BarePro 16-HR Skin-Perfecting Powder Foundation. This foundation features a wet-dry formula that “prevents the product from caking throughout the day,” and is formulated with a pineapple complex to brighten and smooth skin, as well as squalene to deeply replenish hydration. The foundation is vegan and cruelty-free, promises to improve skin tone and texture with extended use, and is available in 35 shades. The campaign also highlights its pre-existing foundation products including the Complexion Rescue, and Original Liquid and Powder Foundations.
