After moving through the 11/11 portal earlier this month, you could be feeling the potent waves of change in the air. Currently, the cosmos are calling us to bravely confront everything that might be holding us back, from Uranus retrograding through Taurus to Saturn going direct in Pisces after months of moving backwards through the most spiritual sign of the zodiac. The former’s impact is shedding light on how we can elevate and move toward our goals (especially during the final days of Pluto in Capricorn), while the latter is helping the collective to mature and commit to our vision. In tandem with today’s Beaver Moon – which also happens to be a Full Moon in Taurus – there’s never been a better time to align with your highest timeline.
Get Ready to Release What’s Holding You Back on This Full Moon in Taurus
The November Full Moon peaks on the 15th at approximately 4:28PM, according to celebrity astrologer Kyle Thomas. He told Good Morning America that this transit’s influence will be evident in the energy from the 12th to the 19th, and that the planet will appear full in the sky for about three days before the waning process begins. Since Taurus rules, “wealth, income, material possessions and the physical world in which we live,” now is the time to evaluate your relationship with all these areas of your life. The second sign of the zodiac is one of two that’s ruled by Venus (the other being Libra), turning our attention to “what we value, our beliefs and the worth we place on everything we have or want.”
“During these times, we can feel more sensual, crave beauty and luxury, and may be a bit more indulgent. Taurus is on the opposite polarity of Scorpio. Together, they exist on the axis of money, power, and sex,” Thomas notes. If you’ve felt disconnected from those around you, make a point to boost your confidence and find comfort through tapping back into your social circle this weekend and beyond. If you’re feeling the call to go inward, do so and reflect on the past without drowning in any emotions that surface. Instead, allow yourself to release stories of pain, victimhood and trauma that no longer serve you.
No matter what sign the monthly Full Moon fal;s under, it’s always an opportunity to practice grounding rituals. To take advantage of Taurus’ earthy energy, find ways to incorporate natural elements into your routine, such as exploring in nature, meditating with crystals and cooking eating delicious meals that to heal and nourish your body.
Breaking down the Beaver Moon’s Meaning
The Old Farmer’s Almanac has dubbed today’s lunar transit the Beaver Moon; per ABC News, the publication began sharing Full Moon names back in the 1930s, helping people connect more closely with the energy these cycles bring about. “[This] full moon is called the beaver moon because this is when beavers start taking shelter in their lodges after stocking up on food for the winter,” the outlet explains. During fur trade times, this part of the year is when beavers were trapped to be used for their thick, winter-ready pelts. The Beaver Moon is also referred to as the Digging Moon, Deer Rutting Moon or Frost/Freezing Moon. This is because it occurs as animals in the Northern Hemisphere are preparing for winter and the upcoming change of the season.
What Is a Supermoon?
The Beaver Moon will be the last of four supermoons to occur in late 2024, the first of which we saw back in August. That was known as the Sturgeon Moon, followed by the Harvest Moon in September and Hunters Moon in October. During each of these events, the planet was closer than usual to Earth in orbit, making it appear larger and brighter than others throughout the year. If you happened to miss the Full Moon in Taurus, mark your calendar for Oct. 7, 2025, which is when the next is due to light up the night!
