Beyoncé is sharing her adoration for the late Tina Turner. The singer made a post to her website following the legendary singer’s death on Wednesday.

In the heartfelt tribute, Beyoncé shared just how much Turner meant to her.

“My beloved queen, I love you endlessly,” Beyoncé’s wrote. “I’m so grateful for your inspiration, and all the ways you have paved the way.”

She continued expressing her gratitude for Turner’s ability to overcome the trials in her life.

“You are strength and resilience,” she continued. “You are the epitome of power and passion. We are all so fortunate to have witnessed your kindness and beautiful spirit that will forever remain. Thank you for all you have done.” 

Honoring a Legend

Her sweet caption included a photo of her 2008 Grammys performance with Turner — which has gone on to become one the most memorable performances in Grammy history.

Beyoncé has long credited Tina Turner as being one of her biggest inspirations as an artist and entertainer. She has paid tribute to her throughout her career including during her 2005 performance of Proud Mary. The rendition was part of the Kennedy Center Honors where Turner received the illustrious award. Beyonceé also memorably jumped for joy when first meeting Turner back in 2008 to begin rehearsals for their Grammys performance.

In an Instagram tribute to Turner, Beyoncé’s mother Tina Knowles reposted a clip from the moment when Beyoncé and Turner met. And in the post’s caption, Knowles went into detail on how much she and her daughter admired Turner.

“Today I celebrate this amazing, beautiful, resilient queen she will be sadly missed. She was ‘Simply The Best,'” Knowles wrote.

Entertainers Remember The Legend

Turner’s impact has been honored by several other artists since the announcement of her passing. Artists like Mariah Carey, Diana Ross, and Erykah Badu have take to social media to sing the praises of Turner.

On Instagram, Oprah Winfrey shared a video from Turner’s Wildest Dreams tour. The self-proclaimed Tina Turner groupie, joined the singer onstage during one of the stops on the tour.

“I was so nervous that my knees were actually knocking together. Dancing onstage with her in Los Angeles was the most fun I ever remember having stepping out of my box,” Winfrey wrote in the caption.

A video of Winfrey talking about her “Tina” wig has gone viral since the singer’s passing. In the clip, Winfrey recounts how she couldn’t stop wearing a wig resembling Turner’s signature hair. She says she even wore it to bed. She reveals it got to the point where her partner, Stedman, had to speak up.

“One day Stedman came and said to me, ‘I don’t know when someone is going to tell you. Tell me what? Tell you that you are not Tina Turner,'” Winfrey comically recounted in the video that has now racked up 1.8 million views.

Lizzo also paid tribute to the singer on Wednesday night during her The Special Tour stop in Arizona, performing “Proud Mary.” She also shared some touching words about Turner and her career.
