Queen Bey is officially back on the stage. The Renaissance Tour kicked off in Stockholm, Sweden, and this is Beyoncé’s first solo run of shows since 2016, according to Consequence Sound. Images from the inaugural show slowly are being released online.
There are some fans attending other stops on Beyoncé’s Renaissance Tour who are trying to avoid any spoilers before seeing the show live. If that’s you, then stop reading now. However, for those who can’t wait, here’s everything that we learned from the first stop on Beyoncé’s Renaissance Tour.
Beyoncé’s Set List
Beyoncé started the Stockholm show off with some old favorites before transitioning to her Renaissance album hits. According to Consequene Sound, the superstar performed a series of ballads including “Dangerously In Love 2” and “I Care.” From the Renaissance album, she performed “I’m That Girl,” “Alien Superstar,” and the first single off the album, “Break My Soul.”
Gayle King shared fan video on her Instagram page that shows Beyoncé on stage speaking to the crowd.
“Y’all make me so happy,” the singer said.
The Set
Fans were treated to a breathtaking set on the tour’s opening night. The circular dome was an impressive sight for fans at Friends Arena. Lights lining the circular stage were all positioned to face down, shining on Beyoncé as she performed for the crowd. The show’s lighting featured a pink and green color scheme.
The Costumes
It’s no surprise that costumes for the show included metallic, futuristic pieces. Images from the opening tour stop show Beyoncé surrounded by dancers in silver two-piece outfits. Queen Bey wore a bodysuit made from the same metallic material that had several strategically placed cut-outs. She also donned thigh high boots in the same material. In an image from the night, Beyoncé is seen wearing a glittery bodysuit with exaggerated shoulders and peplum at the hips.
Beyoncé’s Next Stop
Beyoncé will perform again in Stockholm on May 11 before moving on to Brussels on May 14. The North American leg of the Renaissance Tour begins July 8 in Toronto.
