In a new Instagram reel promoting her hair care line CÉCRED, business mogul Beyoncé showed her followers her wash day secrets. The “16 Carriages” singer delivered some unique secrets for how she keeps her mane so healthy. There was no shortage of natural inches in the video, so her signature technique is most certainly one worth trying.

Beyonce’s Secret Hair Washing Technique

Giving followers a walkthrough of a typical wash day, she starts off with CÉCRED Clarifying Shampoo and Scalp Scrub. She parts her hair, applies the product by sections and massages it in thoroughly. She then lets it sit and tingle before rinsing it out. Next, is the CÉCRED Hydrating Shampoo. Beyoncé shampoos her hair in sections without scrunching it.

“Notice that I’m keeping the hair straight. Parting it into sections and shampooing one section at a time” the singer explained. “That’s one of my secrets.”

She goes on to explain that this method helps prevent matting and tangling.

Next, Beyoncé rinses the hair while paying special attention to the edges and nape of the neck. She then applies the CÉCRED Hydrating Conditioner evenly to saturate every strand. While Beyoncé likes to sit under the dryer with her hair separated into four buns as the conditioner works its magic, it’s most certainly optional. However, the heat will aid in locking in the moisture.

Ms. Tina Knowles Adds Insight

Her mother and CÉCRED vice chairperson Ms. Tina Knowles added even more insight into her daughter’s wash secrets.

“The idea is to keep the hair straight and not manipulated too much so that it does not tangle and is more gentle on the hair,” she said.

Her mother didn’t quite get the “shampooing in sections” method at first.

“Beyoncé has done this technique for quite some time,” she said. “Being someone who likes to get in there when I’m shampooing hair, I found it very interesting at first and didn’t really understand why. She went on to explain and then I understood completely. She keeps the hair straight in sections and it doesn’t get tangled at all because it’s so long and it gets totally saturated with conditioners.”
