One diver has gone viral for a heartwarming interaction with a father and his son. It may even make you feel a little warm inside.

Gabby, who goes by @blackgirlblueworld, only recently created her TikTok account to share her diving journey with the world. Since her first video in August, she’s seen significant exposure on her account, and her most recent viral video is bringing in the numbers.

The diver shared her interaction with a son and father duo who said they’d never seen a Black diver before. Enthusiastically, the two asked for pictures and shared how inspired they were by watching her.

“When you’re down there, and you’re at peace, and you’re smiling and appreciating the fish ā€”that’s what heaven is,” the father explained. “We’re all searching for that heaven you found, and I’m glad you’re sharing it.”

Elsewhere in the video, he spoke her praises directly to the camera. He ensured viewers knew he was earnest about how amazing Gabby was.

“I’m so happy because seeing a sister do that, that’s something that helps us expand. She’s expanded to a world that may be for us. We need to try that,” he continued.

He may have a point there. According to Zippia, more than 85% of professional divers in the U.S. are men with only 9% being Black. Once you break down those numbers, only 13% of divers are female. Diving is missing out on Black women and Gabby knows that and wants to see it changed.

“I want people to be less afraid to try and do it,” she proclaimed. “Because it’s just something we don’t know.
