However, the Observer’s 2024 PR Power List reveals the industry still has a long way to go in recognizing the contributions of Black female publicists and Black-owned agencies.
Hold the PRess, a public relations and communications advocacy organization, demands action after seeing the list lacked recognition of Black female publicists. In an open letter to The Observer, the organization calls for a comprehensive review of the list selection process. It also calls for the company to eliminate biases, include Black professionals in the selection process and feature a minimum of 30 percent of Black professionals and agencies across the lists.
