The 90s was an amazing time for Black entertainment. There were sitcoms with Black leads, Black romantic comedies, a Black variety show and Black music. That meant that there was plenty of eye candy for Black people because Black male celebs were everywhere. As hard as it is to believe, the 90s was over 30 years ago. While entire decades have passed, some of the Black male celebrities, who captured hearts in the 90s, still look absolutely delectable today. They’ve aged like fine wine, and are doing the good work of providing the eye candy that everyone can appreciate.
Morris Chestnut
Morris Chestnut’s professional acting career began in 1990. He would gain fame for his portrayal of Ricky in John Singleton’s “Boyz n The Hood“. Later, he would star in the sitcom “Out All Night” alongside Patti LaBelle. He was boyishly cute then. But by the time he took on the role of Lance Sullivan in 1999’s “The Best Man,” he was grown man fine. These days, you can catch him in “All American,” alongside Daniel Ezra’s Spencer James.
Taye Diggs
Behind all of Taye Diggs’ jokes and theatrics is that same dazzling smile and smooth skin audiences first fell in love with when he played the role of Winston in Terry McMillan’s “How Stella Got Her Groove Back.” Back in 1998, he was skinny with no facial hair, but still gorgeous. He’s more muscular with a salt and pepper goatee that makes him arguably finer today than he was back in the 90s.
Method Man
Method Man rose to prominence as one of the members of the legendary Wu-Tang Clan. In the 90s, he’d solidified his name in Hip Hop history as a Grammy award winning artist. There were plenty of women who thought he was attractive, and every couple of months you can find his name trending on Twitter as women collectively lust after everything from his physique to his facial hair. He is certainly an example of one of the Black male celebrities who has gotten better with time.
Larenz Tate
His portrayal of Darius Lovehall in the iconic “Love Jones” was the perfect combination of seductive and charismatic. Unlike some of the other men on the list, Larenz Tate’s looks haven’t improved with time. Instead, it’s like time has stopped. The same boyish charm he possessed back in day is the same decades later.
Boris Kodjoe
While Boris Kodjoe first made a name for himself with the role of Damon Carter in the series “Soul Food,” in 2000, he began his career in entertainment 90s. First, he was a model and appeared in TLC’s music video “Red Light Special.” By 2002, PEOPLE recognized him as one of the 50 most beautiful people in the world. At 50 years old, he’s still got it.
RonReaco Lee
In Black households, RonReaco Lee is known for his role as Tyreke Scott, Tia Landry’s boyfriend on the hit show “Sister, Sister.” Not too many young men were rocking bald heads back in the 90s, but set off by his generous smile, it worked for Lee. Tia was a lucky girl! Today, Lee, who can be seen on BET’s “The First Wives Club,” has hair, but it doesn’t detract from his good looks.
Usher
Usher managed not only to keep his voice in pristine condition, but also preserve the same look the girlies fell in love with back in his “My Way” days. His residency not only solidified his place as an R&B legend, but also issued a reminder of how fine he is.
