If there’s one thing we can always count on Netflix reality TV to do, it’s bring the drama – especially Selling Sunset. The hit series is now in its eighth season, following the employees of The Oppenheim Group as they sell luxury real estate and navigate their personal problems. Previously we’ve seen Chrishell Stause’s unexpected and messy divorce play out on screen, but this time around, it’s Chelsea Lazkani’s husband who’s being dragged for allegedly cheating on her. In an emotional moment, the British reality star found out about rumors of her partner’s infidelity from fellow cast member Bre Tiesi.
Who Is Jeff Lazkani?
So, who is Jeff Lazkani? Like many other California natives, he’s a die-hard Lakers fan, but that’s not all internet sleuths want to know about him. Lazkani graduated from the University of San Diego in 2005 with his bachelor’s in business admin, management and operations. Even without his education, the father of two likely would’ve ended up working in the entertainment industry due to his mother’s influence. Nancy Lazkani founded Icon Media Group, an advertising agency in 2000 and Jeff became a managing partner in 2021. Before that, he worked in roles like account coordinator, director and vice president of business development strategy.
As it turns out, Chelsea Lazkani’s husband is the reason she landed her role on Selling Sunset. For starters, he encouraged his wife to try out real estate when she didn’t want to return to work as a business strategist after having their kids. A few years later, she saw an opportunity to join The Oppenheim Group and took full advantage. “I knew Jason through my husband and I said to him, ‘What do I have to do?’” she told Vogue in May 2022. “You kind of see how it played out on screen. I wasn’t sure where I was going to get in or not.” Lazkani ultimately convinced the Oppenheim brothers to take her on by bringing in an offer over the asking price for one of their listings, and the rest is history!
Estranged Couple First Met via Tinder in 2015
Like most modern love stories, the Lazkani’s romance began with a swipe. Jeff was Chelsea’s first Tinder date when she relocated to Los Angeles in 2015, and by 2017 they were married. “Almost two years ago I came to Los Angeles for what was meant to be a ‘short break.’ I stayed because I fell in love… It was the best decision I’ve ever made,” the British beauty wrote ahead of their big day. Vows were exchanged at the Resort at Pelican Hill in Newport Beach and for their honeymoon, the newlyweds jetted off to Thailand, Singapore and the Maldives.
Their firstborn, Maddox Ali arrived in January 2019; less than two years later, he became a big brother to Melia Iman in November 2020. The Lazkani’s have shared a lot of their adventures together on social media, and in 2022 Chelsea couldn’t help but gush over her “fairytale” life to Daily Mail. “We spoke about 15 times before getting together. I don’t want to waste my time and give my energy to someone if I don’t think it will be worth it. I feel like I knew him before we even met and the connection was immediate,” the 31-year-old shared. “My husband is amazing and I still wonder how I found this kind of love because it’s so hard.”
Did Chelsea Lazkani’s Husband Cheat On Her?
Based on the current headlines, Chelsea Lazkani’s husband is no longer sitting on the same pedestal she once had him on. In S8 of Selling Sunset, Tiesi tells her co-star about Jeff being spotted with another woman at the W Hotel in Hollywood; according to Cosmopolitan, filming took place between late 2023 to early 2024, which aligns with reports of Lazkani filing for divorce in March. She cited “irreconcilable differences” but requested “joint physical and legal custody” of their kids in addition to spousal support.
While the TV series doesn’t clarify whether Jeff and Chelsea are done for good, we do see the real estate agent remove her wedding ring while declaring “I think this needs to come off.” Lazkani adds, “I havent really wrapped my head around what the next couple months, let alone the next couple of years, would look like for me. But something about being in this house just screams new beginnings for me and I’m not closing my mind to it like I was before, I’m just embracing it.”
