Christina Milian’s Debut Album Was Canceled in the US in Light of the 9/11 Attacks
Born Christina Flores in Jersey City, New Jersey, Milian began using her mother’s maiden name in hopes of attracting new career opportunities. Though she was raised in Waldorf, Maryland, the family matriarch, Carmen, moved her daughters to Los Angeles in their teen years before divorcing their dad. At first, Milian had aspirations of acting, appearing in Sister, Sister, Clueless, Get Real, American Pie and other classics throughout the late ’90s and early 2000s.
Outside of learning lines, the East Coast native also spent time in the studio with hip-hop legends like Ja Rule.
