In the ad (below), we can see Deanna choosing not to cover up her natural beauty by applying foundation in two different shades, embracing and enhancing the beauty in her skin.

Although it might seem like a small gesture, the impact of this representation will be felt. And Deanna knows it.
"Representation is important," she said to People. "Inclusivity is important — not just for people of different backgrounds and ethnicities, but also people of all sizes. That's why I was so excited to partner with CoverGirl on this project … Let's face it, together we are a mosaic — that in itself is beautiful. We should celebrate that."
Deanna's commercial is a part of CoverGirl's ew #IAmWhatIMakeUp campaign, which pushes the boundaries of what we traditionally expect beauty brands to do. They are empowering women to define who they are, whoever that might be, and to live in their truths. And we love it!
