Dating app BLK recently wrapped their series highlighting groundbreaking Black women in the fields of entrepreneurship, music, fashion, STEM, and activism.

A press release announcement revealed the series, Connection, Community & Conversation: How to Channel Your Black Girl Magic to Glow, Grow and Go — kicked off every Wednesday earlier last month on the BLK Instagram page.

The first episode, which you can see above, featured Sesali Bowen, a journalist whose work has been featured in Nylon and Refinery29. She is a modern-day "trap feminist" whose intersectional approach to the new feminist wave has led to a huge following on social media and two hugely successful books on the subject. Other guests included celebrity stylist Rox Brown, musician Kitty Ca$h, and STEMBoard founder Aisha Bowe.

For what it's worth, while it's great that the BLK dating app has been engaging with its users in such an authentic way, it's a pretty popular app on its own that gets great reviews from its users. And there are good reasons for that: BLK is one of the few dating apps designed specifically for Black singles to mix and meet with other Black singles.

Those who use the dating app report being pleasantly surprised by both the ease of use and the quality of matches. While all the features on the app are free, add-ons are available for a nominal fee (so no going broke looking for Mr. or Mrs. Right!).
