We love to see our favs pulling other women up as they climb. As is the case with the current reigning Queen of gymnastics, Simone Biles. In a recent interview, Jordan Chiles, who just earned her spot on the US Women’s Gymnastics team, revealed that when she was about to give up on her gymnast dreams, Biles stepped in. After taking home second place at the all-around competition in 2017, she was not selected to participate at the world championships. Feeling defeated, she thought it may be time to turn her focus away from the sport. She told the New York Times, “I didn’t think the sport wanted me anymore…So I went in the opposite direction.”

After finishing 11th the following year at Nationals, she was firmly decided on throwing in the towel until she had a talk with Simone. Biles offered her an invitation to move to Spring, Texas and train at the gym that Simone and her family owns. Chiles finished high school and promptly took the gold medalist up on her offer. The postponement of the 2020 Olympics gave her the chance to refocus and prepare for the year she’s currently having. When they competed during the Senior Women’s competition of the the U.S. Gymnastics Championships, Biles took home the gold, and Jordan Chiles took the silver.

Now they are both headed to the 2021 Tokyo Olympics hoping to represent for the country and come with medals. We all need our sisters to remind us of who we are when we forget. We can’t wait to root for both Simone and Jordan next month.
