2022 is here and we’ve already made it through January! For some of us this past month has been tough and overwhelming. We’ve had to adjust to a new “normal” as well as try our best to stay healthy and sane. Many of us have transitioned from working at home to working back in the office. Not to mention juggling kids, partners, this terrible weather and more. Let’s just be honest it’s a lot going on however, it’s never too late to start anew and give yourself gentle reminders everyday to keep pushing forward!
We still have 11 months left in 2022 and now is the time to implement positive practices, mindsets and routines in your everyday life. Here are seven gentle reminders to help you get through 2022 the right way.
1. Do A Yearly Review
Yes, 2021 has come and gone, however, it’s always important to look back on your past year and evaluate what went well and what went wrong. What do you wish you could have done differently? What risks and changes do you need to make this year? Reviewing the events from the past year will help you start and finish 2022 the best way for you.
2. Clean, Declutter And Be More Organized
You have to make room for what’s to come. Whether that’s decluttering your home, your car, your emails or relationships it has to be done. Don’t allow the mess from the previous year to carry over into the new year. Try using any down time you have to clean and organize. Take your time with it and do it in small increments so you don’t become overwhelmed.
3. Commit To Bettering Your Financial Cushion
We would all love to wake up to a million dollars in our bank accounts but unless you’re winning the lottery that ain’t happening. With that being said, let’s make a commitment right now that 2022 is going to be the year you build a financial cushion. Sometimes it’s hard when you’re starting out but making small sacrifices here and there will make a huge difference at the end of the year. Stay disciplined and make it a goal to have an emergency fund ready whenever you may need it.
4. Don’t Be Afraid To Ask For Help
Asking for help may be hard for some of you because you feel you might be turned down or laughed at. Now is the time to get control of those negative feelings and get more comfortable asking for help. Communicate your request as clearly and concisely as possible. Don’t apologize for asking for help. Just know there are more people than you think who are eager to lend a hand.
5. Try A New Hobby Or Pick Up An Old One
It’s always a good idea to decompress and pick up a new hobby or an old one. Find something that you enjoy and love and have fun with it. Take time away from the daily grind and lose yourself in your hobby. It’ll help you be creative, build resilience and even achieve some of your goals.
6. Have Some Fun
If you weren’t aware, having fun is good for you mental and physical. It also helps to balance out our stress and feel-good hormones. Incorporate some fun in your life, I promise, you won’t regret it.
7. Rest & Reset
When it’s all said done none of the above can be accomplish unless you rest and reset. Finding ways to relax and rest will work wonders in your life. Don’t feel bad about taking time for yourself either! Cut off the phone, soak in a hot tub, do some yoga, pour yourself a glass of wine and enjoy!
