The beauty influencer and face of "The Darkest Shade" YouTube series teamed up with the mega-brand to create what she has called the "dream red" lipstick. Tang is known for giving her honest opinions on makeup items that claim to be made for all shades.
"I started wearing makeup when I was a little older, like 21, and that's when I started realizing that there's really not much out there for me," Tang told Refinery29. "I think a lot of companies are playing catch up right now. We still need those deeper sculpting products, bronzers, and contour powders — even eyeshadows need to be more inclusive and dark skin-friendly."
Back in January, Tang took to her Instagram in a signature black MAC lab coat to share she was creating her own custom lipstick. Equipped in hand was a beaker filled with what we all assumed to be the newest shade to be added to the MAC family. Nine months later, we can all get our hands on our own @NYMATANG lipstick.

The lipstick is housed in a "romantic red rose-print exclusive packaging with silver accents" designed by the beauty influencer. The color itself is described as a warm, matte red that is complimentary for all skin tones. So why red? Well, Tang just loves the staple color.
"I just love a red lip," she said to Refinery29. "I take the Fenty 'Stunna' with me if I want to be extra, and I love Sephora's 'Always Red.' That's probably my favorite, besides my own MAC lipstick."
