The Memphis rapper returned to her old stomping grounds of MLK College Prep, to surprise the student during a pre-homecoming event. After speaking to the students and faculty, she revealed that she would be donating 25,000 thousand dollars to the school. The funds are aimed towards the senior class as well as the music and arts program.

MLK Prep principal Chiquita Perry accepted the check on behalf of the entire body and touched on how important it was to the students for GloRilla to return to the school. “A lot of students sometimes don’t believe in themselves or they need that extra push so knowing that you can overcome so many obstacles that life throws at you is just that peace that we need,” she mentions. “We are extremely proud of Ms. Woods and thankful for her acts of service, leadership, and fellowship in her community.”

The “F.N.F” rapper discussed how happy she was to have been able to do this. “I feel extremely blessed like that’s the word, blessed,” she said. “It feel real good to be able to have the platform to be able to come back and help students where I came from.”
She also encouraged the students to chase their dreams. “Anything they put they mind to its possible. Long as they got a dream they just got to reach for the stars and whatever they mind to doing, whatever they work for, they can do,” she said.

Glo plans to revisit the school again next year.
