Now that the buzz surrounding “The Little Mermaid” has died down, it appears the star of the film is getting back to her musical roots. Halle Bailey shared a video on Instagram Monday teasing a new song set to be released August 4.

“angels make a way somehow. friday. pre-save link in bio,” Bailey captioned the video.

In it, followers see a montage of videos from several points in Bailey’s life. Clips include the singer as an infant and as an adult. In one, a young Bailey unwraps a gift exclaiming, “I got an electric guitar!” In another Bailey shows off a bracelet and says, “my charms have an angel.” The montage continues with quick clips of Bailey singing in school, onstage with her sister and several pictures from her childhood. Then, viewers see images and clips from her more recent years including a shot of the Disney castle.

The video ends with text on the screen that reads, “Angels make a way somehow.” The phrase is followed by the singular word “Angel” and then the song’s release date.

Fans rushed to the comments to share their excitement for new music.

“Oooooooh myyyyy gosssshhh ! Now im counting down the seconds, minutes, hours, and days till Friday,” one user wrote. Many in Bailey’s comments shared the same sentiment.

A Solo Project

Bailey has previously discussed a solo project in the works. In April she revealed she was working on a debut solo album. She opened up about the upcoming project in a cover story for British Vogue’s May issue. While this project will be all Bailey, she admitted that when she needs creative help she isn’t above reaching out to her sister, Chloe and her mentor, Beyoncé

“I just played her a lot of my songs and she was really overjoyed for me. It’s really cool to have somebody as established and talented as she is give you confirmation that the art you’re creating matters,” Bailey told British Vogue. “She won’t outright be like, ‘This is what I think you should do.’ She’s very open that way. And to have that since we were 15 is something I do not take for granted.”
