Halle Bailey has obtained a temporary restraining order against her ex-boyfriend, rapper and YouTuber DDG (Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr.). The legal action follows serious allegations of physical, verbal, and emotional abuse, marking a distressing chapter in what was once a seemingly happy relationship.

On Tuesday, a Los Angeles judge granted Bailey a temporary restraining order that requires DDG to remain at least 100 yards away from her and their 17-month-old son, Halo. The order, which remains in effect until a hearing scheduled for June 6, also mandates that DDG not possess any firearms and prohibits any form of contact with Bailey. The legal filing includes graphic and disturbing allegations of repeated abuse, offering a painful glimpse into the private turmoil Bailey says she endured.

The Restraining Order and Allegations

According to the court documents, one particularly alarming incident took place in January 2025. During a custody exchange at her residence, DDG allegedly became aggressive, pulling Bailey’s hair and slamming her face into a steering wheel. Bailey claimed that the altercation left her with a chipped tooth. She also submitted photographic evidence of bruises and injuries that she says were sustained during that and other confrontations.

In another reported incident from March 2025, Bailey stated that DDG unlawfully entered her home and sent her a photo from inside her bedroom along with a threatening and accusatory message. The chilling moment was just an example of what she describes as a pattern of control and intimidation. Most recently, Bailey said that during a heated exchange, DDG destroyed her Ring doorbell camera and threw her phone while she was holding their son. These events contributed to her decision to seek court protection not only for herself but also for their child.

Bailey further claimed that DDG has weaponized his social media platforms to harass her indirectly. She says the rapper encourages his millions of followers to target her online. She has reportedly received threats and hateful messages that she attributes to DDG’s public statements and behavior online. As part of her petition, she is asking the court for full custody of Halo while she is filming in Italy. Additionally, she wants the court to require DDG to refrain from discussing her or their son publicly. Bailey is also asking that DDG enroll in a 52-week Batterer Intervention Program.
