I follow a great content creator on Instagram named @nabela of @nabelanoorhome. She has a beautifully designed page with such great energy. Her posts make you feel good. Nabela speaks of creating pockets of peace in your day despite how hectic, busy or tumultuous your day may be or become. These little moments you take to reflect on your day, yourself, show gratitude or practice a self-care tip may not seem like much as you take them, but they add up over time. You are creating a habit of balance, self love, gratitude and reflection. Over time a habit becomes a part of your life.
What Are Pockets of Peace?
Pockets of peace are moments that are taken to give balance to your day. In this moment you do things that create or bring joy to you. You take a moment for yourself to create, reflect, practice and/or show gratitude. These are calm moments that balance your daily schedule to remind you to be mindful and to appreciate the day that is before you, the time you have now and will no longer have. It is a suggestion for you to absorb everything including moments that are not favorable.
Creating Pockets of Peace
A pocket of peace looks different for everyone. It may be playing a favorite song or doing something you find therapeutic such as preparing a great meal, reading a chapter from a new book or maybe knocking off an item on your to-do list. For me, deep cleaning relieves a lot of stress and calms me. No matter how busy you are, take a moment to carve time for yourself. In that moment, your peace is the only thing that matters. The joy you feel or will feel is the priority for that moment in time.
Why Are Pockets Of Peace Necessary?
When curating a mindful life, one of the main facets is balance. In all that we do each day, balance is what keeps us from becoming overwhelmed or swallowed by the day. Curating a pocket of peace allows an opportunity for you to be intentional with yourself. It is a moment where you allow yourself to be comfortable enough with the idea of resting mentally throughout the day, not just on a certain day or before bed. We all need rest. We all need balance and an opportunity to push the reset button. Take the opportunity. Find joy in the little things so that you can have it daily.
