The Return of Red Table Talk
In an exclusive interview with People Magazine, Pinkett Smith opens up about her new memoir releasing on October 17th. During the discussion, she was asked about the future of “Red Table Talk.”
“We’ve had a couple platforms reach out to us,” she said to the publication. “And we have some interesting avenues that we’re looking at now. You know me, I’m always looking for the next innovative thing.”
Pinkett Smith says there is one idea that she is particularly excited about but didn’t share any details on what it might be.
“That will probably be happening, maybe, close to the release of the book,” she says. “We’ve got some really interesting stuff happening with RTT. I’m excited about that journey as well.”
She even shared that because of the success of “Red Table Talk,: many people felt that they knew exactly who she was.
“So many people feel because of my talk show Red Table Talk that they know my journey. And they really don’t. There’s been so much about my journey that I haven’t really been able to share on a format like RTT.”
She told the publication that she is excited to share her story on her own terms in the new memoir.
“In the book I really explain all of that extensively as part of my reclamation journey,” she explained. “I think a lot of people, not even just women, but a lot of us lose ourselves in narratives that are not necessarily or completely forthright.”
“Red Table Talk” first premiered in 2018 on Facebook Watch. It went on to win a Daytime Emmy for outstanding informative talk show in 2021. The show has ahd several guests like Snoop Dogg, Tiffany Haddish, Kevin Hart and more.
