What Is the Lagos Hair Line?

@theyoungafricana

Trying Out The Trending Lagos Hairline Aka “Low hairline/ widows peak”. So I decided to not go as drastic as some of the other hairlines I saw so let’s just call this one “Baby Lagos 🇳🇬” 😂😂😂. I was able to achieve this flawless look with using @Nair for about 5 mins on the lace and washed the lace THRICE with some clarifying shampoo to make sure I don’t get no Nair on my real hair 😂! I think I did a pretty good job at doing the Baby Lagos Hairline and still making it look super natural. But I couldn’t have done it without @Naturally Chic Beauty LLC . I got provided with a beautiful 6×6 HD lace Closure in 20” alongside with 3 bundles of 24,24,22” of their raw Indian hair. This hair took color and curl like a DREAM! Hair color video on this look drops tomorrow afternoon on YouTube 🎥: Young Africana | LINK IN BIO! #wigs #wigtok #wiginstall #wiginfluencer #widowspeak #nigeriantiktok #ghanatiktok🇬🇭 #blackgirlhair #blackgirlhairstyles #fyppppppppppppppppppppppp #xyzbca

The Lagos hair line is a specific style of applying a wig, frontal, or closure. It involves over plucking the hair line of your extensions to look more natural. More specifically, the Lagos hair line creates an “M” shape along your extensions hair line. This hairstyle is growing in popularity because it best mimics your natural hair line. Most wigs, frontals, and closures plucking style is in a straight line, which doesn’t reflect most people’s natural look. The Lagos hair line appears more realistic.

Where Did the Lagos Hair Line Come From?

There’s no definite origin story for the creation of the Lagos hair line. But, the style, which involves no edges, probably grew popular in Lagos, Nigeria because of the heat. Hot temperatures can easily make your lace lift and your edges curl up. The Lagos hair line is a clean slick back style that will keep your hair line in place.

How to Achieve the Lagos Hair Line

If you’re looking to try the trendy style, the technique lies in how you pluck your extensions. Some people take two whole bunches of hair near the center of their frontal, wig, or closure and pluck it by hand. Others use hair removal products like Nair on the perimeter of the extensions to conveniently and cleanly remove the extra hair. To try the Lagos hair line yourself, you’ll probably need a razor, fine tooth comb, hair removal cream and tweezers.

“As I grow older I’m starting to realize that most of the things you’re insecure about when you’re younger, ends up becoming a trend somehow later,” one person commented.
