Lizzo has never been one to shy away from her opinion. In a recent interview with Vanity Fair, the “Good As Hell” singer got into some things.
On Monogamy
In a candid, new interview with Vanity Fair, Lizzo opened up about her relationship with her partner, Myke Wright, while also discussing her views on relationships and approach to monogamy. During the interview, the Detroit native shared that she had known Wright for a long time, and he is “everything.” The singer also opened up about her thoughts on monogamy.

Although the 34-year-old shared that she was in a happy relationship, and is in love, she had some thoughts about monogamy that many people would find puzzling at first. Earlier this year, she shared on “The Breakfast Club” radio show that she did not believe in monogamy. In her Vanity Fair interview, she re-expounded on her thoughts about monogamy.

While discussing relationships and love, Lizzo rhetorically asked, “Is monogamy a religion? People fight for monogamy like they pray to it every day. I am not a polyamorous person, I’m not in love with multiple partners. That is not me. He’s the love of my life. We are life mates. Do I want to get married? If I wanted to start a business with him, I’d get married because that’s when your finances come together. I like weddings,” said Lizzo.
“I would like to have a wedding over a marriage. I’m not thinking about sex when I think about monogamy and rules. I’m thinking about the autonomy and independence of him and me. How wonderful would it be to be this complete independent person and to come together to make two complete independent people?”
In another segment of the interview, Lizzo shared that even without a partner, she felt whole, and did not feel the pressure to have someone else “complete” her.
“We’re like the mirror image of each other. We’re connected. But that doesn’t mean I was incomplete when I met him,” said Lizzo.
