The weather is getting warmer and this means soon it will be time to uncover the grill, put on some music, pull out a deck of cards, and tell your aunt to bring the mac and cheese and get ready to have a barbecue. Oven-baked Hennessy-BBQ wings are perfect for a good cookout. They also work just as well if you want to impress your coworkers during lunch or have them all to yourself for a Netflix and chill night. Whatever the occasion, these wings are the move!
Here's what you need:
Depending on how much chicken you use and your taste preferences, you might have to alter the amount of each ingredient.
- 1 lb of chicken wings
- 1 cup of Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ Sauce
- 1/2 cup of Hennessy
- Salt
- Black pepper
- Ginger
- 1 teaspoon of brown sugar
- Minced garlic
- Onion powder
- Vegetable oil (any choice of oil will work )
- Baking sheet
- Foil
How to make it:
Once you prep your chicken, mix salt, pepper and garlic in a Ziploc bag or a bowl and add a few tablespoons of oil and Hennessy. Place the chicken in the bag and let it coat the chicken. Sit the chicken in the fridge for about an hour or two. If you don't have a grill and don't want to fry it, the oven works just as well. Preheat your oven to 425. While the chicken is marinating, mix the garlic, brown sugar, ginger, BBQ sauce and Hennessy together in a bowl. Take a baking sheet and line it up with aluminum foil, place the chicken on the foil, brush some of the Hennessy BBQ sauce over the chicken and place it in the oven for 20-30 minutes or until the chicken is no longer pink. Take out the wings and toss more sauce over them and place them back in the oven for 10 minutes. Take the wings out one last time, let them cool and enjoy!
