Massy Arias, one of our favorite Afro-Latina influencers, is now the face of CoverGirl’s Active campaign.

This new line from the beauty powerhouse is comprised of sweat-and-humidity proof products made specifically for the active woman. According to Shape, the active collection will include: “a volumizing mascara (available now), an oil-free foundation with SPF, a cooling setting mist, and a high-impact liquid eyeliner (launching in January).”

The new active Lash Blast Mascara comes in four colors (extreme black, very black, black and black-brown) and is made with the cruelty-free guarantee. Arias told Health she swears by the new mascara and that it is one of her favorite beauty products.

“I am a LashBlast groupie. Mascara is a must when you have a toddler and aren't sleeping enough each night.”

She also told Shape she never leaves home without applying a coat or two.

"I never leave the house without mascara, it's a must, especially now that my hair is short. Plus, I love my eyes, so it's my favorite part to accentuate. The CoverGirl Lash Blast Active application is out of this world. It goes on smooth, it looks very natural, it's not clumpy, it stays on when you sweat, and you can take it off easily, unlike a lot of other waterproof mascaras that are really hard to remove. I'm obsessed with it."

Although her life can be super busy with all that she does, on top of being a mom to one of the most beautiful girls in the world, Indira, Arias uses her beauty routine as an opportunity to teach her daughter self-love. She told Shape, once a week, they do their hair together and she let’s Indira touch her hair as a bonding activity.

When I was 9 years old I asked my mom why my hair was curly and hers straight. I’m sure being a busy mom and having a different hair type than mine, my mom did what she thought was best for her lifestyle. Yesterday I chopped it all off so I can be all natural. Because I am more than my hair! I want indi to understand her heritage and relate to me. I want her to feel beautiful in her own skin. I got tired of straightening my hair with heat, perms, and putting my scalp under so much stress being that I have mild scalp psoriasis. So let’s see how I adapt to my natural hair and see these curls come in. STAY TUNED FOR THE YOUTUBE VIDEO WHERE I’LL BE SHARING THE WHOLE PROCESS WHERE @amenabelledesoleil CHOPS IT UP. What products do you guys recommend? Let’s hear them. I need tons of advice and I’m sure I have lots to learn. Thank you @simplybiancaalexa @sunkissalba for all the advice. To my @mawarriors let’s kill week 2 of our challenge! I spent all day cleaning up, grocery shopping, and cooking. This week I’m so focused to do better than ever! A ver? Tomo notas! #hijadecristo

Last December, Arias cut off her hair in an effort to go natural and to show her daughter, and herself, that she is more than her hair.

"Cutting my hair was so much more than just a beauty decision. Growing up, I never watched TV and saw women that I could relate to. Even in Hispanic TV, you tend to only see the lighter Hispanic and Latinos—and you never saw women wearing their real hair. So for me, this is more than just an all-natural hair movement. This was for my daughter Indi and leading by example and showing her that I'm confident in my skin.”

Another vital part of her beauty routine is her anti-acne regime she’s been following for years:

"I used to have not the greatest skin and struggled with blemishes. Over the past few years, I've really taken care of my skin and it's made such a big difference. The most important thing for me after I'm done working out (whether I’m wearing makeup or not) is to always wipe my face with coconut oil or jojoba oil. I also exfoliate once a week to make sure that I'm getting rid of dead skin, and I sleep on a silk pillowcase—it does wonders for my hair, wrinkles, and it doesn't strip your skin of moisture. I change that every other day, I clean my phone on a regular basis, and I make sure that I don't sleep with my makeup on."

In addition to her external regime, Arias makes sure she is drinking a healthy amount of water to keep her body hydrated, and she starts her day with this drink mixture:

“I start my day with 8 ounces of water mixed with a quarter teaspoon of cayenne pepper, 1 teaspoon of organic turmeric powder, 2 teaspoons of raw honey, and 1 teaspoon of apple cider vinegar. You can also take an apple cider vinegar capsule—I made my own because people always complained about the taste of vinegar. It's great for your immunity, for healthy, glowing skin, for water retention to help prevent bloating—it really energizes and detoxes, and can help with fat burning too.”

Arias is definitely fitness goals, and with CoverGirl’s new active line, she doesn’t have to choose between glam girl and an athlete! She believes women can be both, and she’s living proof.
