When Meagan Good and Jonathan Majors first started spending time together in early 2023, not everyone was convinced their relationship was legitimate. It seemed a bit too convenient that the 35-year-old actor – whose career had been soaring to new heights thanks to the success of Creed III and Marvel’s latest Ant-Man film – linked up with one of Hollywood’s hottest Black actresses in the midst of his domestic violence case with ex-girlfriend Grace Jabbari. Nevertheless, the pair is still going strong as of November 2024, and even recently confirmed that they’re engaged! Read on for everything we know about the famous couple’s rapidly moving relationship.
Meagan Good Met Jonathan Majors After Divorcing DeVon Franklin
While she seems content by Jonathan Majors’ side, this won’t be Meagan Good’s first time down the aisle. She spent nine years married to DeVon Franklin, who filed for divorce in late 2021. The couple finalized things one year later, sharing a statement with their longtime fans to clear the air on any drama. “After much prayer and consideration, we have decided to go into our futures separately but forever connected. We celebrate almost a decade of marriage together and a love that is eternal. There’s no one at fault, we believe this is the next best chapter in the evolution of our love,” they wrote.

Marvel Actor’s Love Life Was Mostly Private Until His 2023 Arrest
Good and her ex-husband were long considered #CoupleGoals, but for his part, Majors preferred to keep his love life out of the public eye while focusing on his work. That all changed, however, when the California native was arrested over domestic violence allegations in March 2023. A NYPD report identified him as the aggressor in an incident with his ex, Jabbari; Majors spent hours in police custody but was later released and continues to deny the allegations against him. He was arraigned and charged with assault and harassment in the following days, ultimately filing a countersuit against Jabbari three months later, claiming she caused him pain and made him bleed during their spat.
While He Awaited Trial, Majors and Good Made Their Romance Public
After the incident with Jabbari, Majors notably lost multiple acting projects and was dropped by his reps. While waiting for the storm to pass, it seems the actor found comfort in connecting with Good, who he was photographed on a date with in May 2023. The next month, she held his hand at a hearing in New York, showing her ability to support her man even in the most tumultuous of times.
Their connection grew more over the summer, with Good joining her partner at the Manhattan Criminal Court in August. Although Jabbari took the stand in the trial, Majors didn’t testify in his defense. He was ultimately found guilty of misdemeanor assault in the third degree by December 2023.
Embattled Star Faced Backlash for Comparing His Girlfriend to Coretta King Scott
At the top of the new year, Jonathan Majors publicly thanked Meagan Good for all her support. “She’s an angel. She’s held me down like a Coretta [Scott King]. I’m so blessed to have her. The relationship is still fresh, but I think I found her,” he expressed to ABC in a tell-all interview. This comment raised eyebrows, as the Lovecraft Country star was exposed for encouraging Jabbari (a White woman) to act like Martin Luther King Jr.’s wife in an audio recording she played during trial.
Meagan Good and Jonathan Majors Made Their Red Carpet Debut in 2024
Seemingly hoping to put the past behind them, Majors and Good were all smiles on the red carpet at the African American Film Critics Association Special Achievement Honorees Luncheon in March 2024. This marked not only their major event debut, but also Majors’ first public appearance since his guilty verdict. Two weeks later they were dressed to the nines at the NAACP Image Awards, where Good was nominated for Outstanding Actress in a Comedy Series (Prime Video’s Harlem). “I love everything she does, and I’m glad she’s being acknowledged today,” Majors told Entertainment Tonight while supporting his girlfriend.
Good might not have won that prize, but she returned the expression of gratitude toward her lover while speaking with Us Weekly in June. “It’s been quite a year to say the least, and how he’s handled it, how he’s grown, how we’ve learned to dance in the rain and how we’ve learned to just look at God first and foremost above everything,” she said.
Couple Confirmed Their Engagement at the Ebony 100 Power Gala
While attending the annual Ebony 100 Power Gala, Meagan Good was overjoyed to flaunt her new rock from Jonathan Majors, who recently proposed. “[The] Ebony Power 100 is the event that we met at in the bathrooms, in the unisex bathroom,” she told E! News,” when revealing why they chose the event to share their announcement. Do you think this unexpected couple is end game? Let us know in the comments!
