Estée Lauder is one of the oldest and most highly regarded beauty brands out. They've got classics like their cult-favorite Double Wear Stay-in-Place makeup and their fragrances fill the medicine cabinets of professional women everywhere. If you love beauty, chances are you've tried and loved at least one of their products. And now one of our favorite role models, Misty Copeland, is the new face of the brand.
So what does this mean for the history-making prima ballerina? We'll be able to see her star in print, TV, in-store and digital ads for the "Modern Muse" fragrance she's representing. The scent is complex — something the brand did on purpose to represent the dynamic qualities of the modern woman. With notes of exotic mandarin, honeysuckle nectar and patchouli there's a boldness, but soft musk, amber wood and Madagascar vanilla soften up the body of the scent.
Misty is the perfect representative for a scent with such a strong inspiration and back story. She's worked hard her whole life and her work has clearly paid off. Even beyond just being an amazing dancer, Copeland is a representative for so many young dancers who haven't seen themselves reflected in the industry. As the first African-American woman to be the principal dancer at the American Ballet Theatre (ABT), her story is inspiring and her presence matters on a serious level.
