It’s ladies night! And if you’re a hip hop fan, the women of rap have got you covered. Gone are the days where only one woman could rock the mic at a time. In 2022, it’s our sistas who are running the game. Names like Cardi B, Megan Thee Stallion, Doja Cat and Saweetie dominate the Billboard charts while the likes of Lil Kim, Foxy Brown, Eve, Nicki Minaj and Lauryn Hill sit perfectly positioned on rap’s throne. But every torch that has been lit, must be passed and rap’s rising class is dropping some real fire. Hailing everywhere from Chicago to Jamaica, a new crop of femcees have something to say and we are all ears. Fun wordplay dripped in bold braggadocio coming from the mouth’s of some of the most gorgeous women in the game is enough for us to turn up the music and decide to STAN.

Here are some of our favorite up and coming female rappers.

Monaleo

When her hit “Beating Down your Block” started making its way around Twitter, it wasn’t just her familiar aesthetic that caught attention but her lyricism. It is equal parts raw, witty and well-versed. Inside her tiny frame is a beast on the mic who is poised to make some real noise this summer. Her latest offering, “We Not Humping” is one of the most popular sounds on TikTok. Fans can catch her at the Rolling Loud festival this summer.

Baby Tate

Don’t let her Twitter scuffles fool you, Baby Tate is not a gimmick. Both a vocalist and a skilled writer, her talent and creativity bring to mind a young Queen Latifah in her prime. She is confident and unafraid. After debates over her body hit to social media, she was handpicked as a Fenty ambassador by Rihanna herself. She’s an advocate for women showing up as themselves in every way. No stranger to confronting issues head on, if the industry is ripe for the taking, we have a feeling Baby Tate has the courage to run away with it.

KenTheMan

This brown skinned beauty gives us heavy Foxy Brown vibes and we are truly living for it. Not afraid to talk that talk, KenTheMan is what the game’s been missing. Tracks like “I’m Perfect” and “IDGAF” are definitely what riding around in the summer with your friends needs. Her smooth cadence is the icing on the cake.

Dreezy

Though she’s still making a real name for herself, Dreezy has been blacking out on wax for quite some time. From bodying a remix to “Chiraq” to her latest project with platinum track making producer Hit-Boy, the Chicago born MC shows no signs of slowing down. The hunger in her verses mixed with her innate sensibility for musicality in her rhymes is a recipe for success.

OmerettĂ  The Great

Yep, you know she had to make the list. After sparking quite the debate and creating tons of spinoff rebuttals with her track “Sorry NOT Sorry”, OmerettĂ  The Great has solidified herself as one of the most promising young rappers in the game. Talk about someone who knows how to float over a beat, this proud ATLien is poised for a takeover.

Shenseea

Oh yes we fwan gwan turn up with this gyal! The dancehall queen is making a splash in the states with her latest project, Alpha, which features 21 Savage, Megan Thee Stallion and Offset as well as Jamaican legends Sean Paul and Beenie Man. Giving the girls some grooves perfect for a day on a boat with your friends, Shenseea has a cool vibe and all the right stuff to be around for a long time.

Flo Milli

Honestly, if you haven’t heard of Flo Milli, what are you doing? A complete package and hailing from Alabama, this 22-year-old lyrical assassin is making rap exciting again. Her track “Pretty Black Cute” is the anthem we all need and the ideas she comes up with for her visuals keep us in awe of her vision! An artist from top to bottom, we never want her reign to end. We have decided to be on nothing but Flo Milli s&%* from this moment forward.
