Monica had her followers, and even one of her children, in an uproar after she took to her Instagram to post a video of herself cozying up to rapper The Game.
The clip shared Thursday shows Monica and The Game in the just released music video for her song “Letters.”
But despite the steamy clip clearly being from the “Letters” visuals, the teaser video left many commenting about how cute of a couple the singer and rapper would be.
Even Monica’s son Romelo Montez Hill had something to say about his mom’s post. The video seemingly caught him completely by surprise.
“Yo what is this,” he commented on the teaser Monica posted of the “Letters” video. And fans of the singer were clearly humored by her son’s post, with many responding to his comment with crying emojis.
“SON… It’s like a movie!! Momma at work,” Monica replied to her son’s comment.
Monica then took to her Instagram story to share a screenshot of their convo in the comments section of the post.
“Somebody please tell Lil Daddy take a day off….,” she hilariously captioned the post.
The Game got in on the fun too, taking to his own Instagram page to share images of the pair from the video shoot.
“They said ‘Make it make sense’…. I said ‘No problem’.,” he captioned his recap post.
The “Letters” video was released on Friday and has received tons of love from fans.
The track is from Monica’s long-awaited ninth studio album Trenches. She has confirmed that she is still working on completing the Trenches project and a separate country album. But she has yet to reveal the release date for either album.
“I think there’s been a little frustration toward me when it comes to releasing ‘Trenches,’ and I completely understand why and take full accountability,” she said in a recent interview with Essence. “But I would rather the music be late and great than be right away and missing elements that I know should be there.”
Along with her new music video, Monica recently launched her MoTalk radio show on Apple Music.
