Monica is supporting the entrepreneurial dreams of her son with a major birthday surprise.
The signer gifted her oldest son, Rodney Ramone “Rocko” Hill III, with $18,000 in celebration of his 18th birthday.

Monica shared the sweet moment in a clip featured in an Instagram birthday montage for Hill. The montage included clips of Hill over the years. It ended with a clip of Monica revealing to her son she would be gifting him $18,000 to invest in his business. She also gifted him $1,800 that he could use for “fun” money.
Monica posted a loving message to accompany the heartwarming video.
“You changed my life the second I knew I was pregnant with you! I wanted to be better for you, grow for you, change for you, and accomplish things unimaginable for you,” she captioned the post. “Today I celebrate you! There’s nothing in the world we wouldn’t do for you! Happy 18th Birthday … Love Mom.”
Monica received props from her fans who applauded her decision to help her son invest in his entrepreneurial dreams. The singer’s followers were also admittedly emotional after viewing the post. Many shared that the video made them tear up after watching Hill grow up over the last 18 years of Monica’s career.
Back in April, Monica shared photos of herself, Hill, and her other two children Romelo and Laiyah as they sent Hill off to prom. Her birthday montage yet again had fans commenting on just how fast time flies.
Monica has been keeping busy over the past year, including working on two new music project. At a May concert, the singer shared that both albums are complete.
“Before I go any further, I wanna say that Trenches the album is done. It is ready. Also my country album, Open Roads, is done. I got a few things that I wanna add,” Monica said. “I have been doing what I got to do, but I have been balancing. Because one thing for all of us is that life just keeps life-ing. It’s ok when you take time for you.”
